App Insaller for APK - Help File
How to Connect Your Android Device to PC (USB)
To use the APK installation and screen mirroring features, App Installer for APK must establish a secure communication link with your hardware. This requires a physical USB connection and the activation of USB Debugging.
1. Prerequisite: ADB Setup
The app requires the Android Debug Bridge (ADB) to function. If you haven’t linked the adb.exe file yet, please complete our ADB Setup Guide before proceeding.
2. Enable Developer Options
Android hides advanced connection settings for security. You must first unlock the “Developer Options” menu:
Open Settings on your Android device.
Navigate to About Phone (or Software Information).
Tap the Build Number seven times until you see the “You are now a developer” notification.
Official Resource: For a detailed breakdown of this process for different devices, see Configure On-Device Developer Options.
3. Turn On USB Debugging
This permission allows the Windows app to send the APK files and video data to your device:
Return to the main Settings menu and select Developer Options.
Locate the USB Debugging toggle and switch it On.
Official Resource: If you encounter issues finding this setting or understanding the security prompts, refer to Google’s guide on how to Run Apps on a Hardware Device.
4. Authorize the PC Connection
Connect your device to the PC using a high-quality USB cable.
Watch for a popup on your Android screen titled “Allow USB Debugging?”.
Check “Always allow from this computer” and tap Allow.
Note: If you miss this prompt, unplug the cable and plug it back in.
In the Windows app, click the Refresh button to detect your device.
